The mouse always has a plan. The cat never sees it coming.
A detective mouse in a trench coat and a grumpy tabby cat keep getting shoved into the same tiny spaces — a pantry, a rooftop, a mall food court — and somehow keep ending up on the same side by the end of it.
Rivals who keep ending up on the same team.
Every episode starts the same way — the mouse wants something, the cat is in the way, and neither one is backing down. A wedge of cheese, a stolen prize, the last slice at a mall food court. It should be a simple chase.
It never is. A raven shows up and steals the prize from both of them. A frog captain offers the mouse a ride the cat can't follow. By the time the dust settles, the two of them are usually working together — not because they like each other, but because whatever showed up next was a bigger problem than either of them expected.
Nobody ever wins the chase. They just find a bigger problem to team up against.
